The information and awareness campaign entitled “Sexismus : Erkenn et. Schwätz et un. Stopp et!” launched by the Ministry for Gender Equality and Diversityy in cooperation with the Council of Europe, aims to define sexism, show its different facets and encourage the public to change their behaviour.
By highlighting the multidimensional nature of sexism and its presence in different areas of our lives, the campaign aims to raise awareness of this phenomenon, which exists in all spheres of life and affects the whole of society, with women and girls being proportionally more affected.
It should be noted that sexism can undermine the dignity or inherent rights of a person or group of people and lead to harm or suffering of a physical, sexual, psychological or socio-economic nature. It also hinders the empowerment and full realisation of human rights and reinforces gender stereotypes.
